Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 25, 2025
Our Commitment
At Norse Guard, we believe privacy is a fundamental right. This policy explains how we handle your information — spoiler: we collect almost nothing.
The Short Version: We don't track you. We don't sell your data. We don't log your browsing activity. Period.
Information We Don't Collect
Norse Guard is designed with privacy at its core. We do NOT collect:
- Your browsing history or DNS queries
- IP addresses or location data
- Personal identification information
- Device fingerprints or tracking identifiers
- Any data that could identify you personally
Information We Do Collect
To provide our service, we collect minimal, non-personal information:
- Account Email: If you create an account for Pro features
- Purchase Records: Managed securely through Apple's App Store
- Crash Reports: Anonymous, opt-in only, to improve stability
- Aggregated Statistics: Non-personal data like total blocks (no individual tracking)
DNS Filtering
Norse Guard uses DNS-based filtering to block ads and trackers. Here's how it works:
- DNS queries are processed locally on your device or through trusted third-party DNS providers (AdGuard, Cloudflare, etc.)
- We never see, log, or store your DNS queries
- Blocked domains are determined by filter lists, not by monitoring your activity
- All filtering happens in real-time with no data retention
Third-Party DNS Providers
If you choose to use external DNS providers (AdGuard DNS, Cloudflare, etc.), their privacy policies apply to DNS resolution:
Data Security
We employ industry-standard security measures:
- All communications encrypted with TLS 1.3
- No central database of user activity
- Local data stored securely in iOS Keychain and encrypted storage
- Regular security audits and updates
Children's Privacy
Norse Guard is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our service blocks inappropriate content when family-safe DNS providers are selected.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of any account data
- Export your settings and whitelist
- Opt out of anonymous crash reporting
- Contact us with privacy concerns
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
